This module outlines some potential funding mechanisms for biodiversity-related projects at the sub-national level. People give money to an institution they know, trust and feel comfortable with. University Grands Raise money for a good education cause Heritage University empowers a multicultural and inclusive student body to overcome the social, cultural, economic, and geographic barriers that limit access to higher education. Rooted in the homeland of the Yakama Nation, Heritage embraces transformational student-centered education that cultivates leadership and a commitment to the promotion of a more just society. Heritage University collectively tracked the progress and displayed donors’ names during the hour-long virtual evening. They reached their $700,000 goal by the conclusion of the fundraising hour, and when they totaled all the donations, they had raised 121% of their goal. Text to give was also promoted through their social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. There were also special guests performing at different malls.Outside of Haiti relief efforts, this mobile giving campaign has been the most successful mobile giving campaign to date in Canada!
